Rolling Hills Riding Academy (RHRA) was established from a dream of providing a school where students could learn quality horsemanship and horses would have a job well into their golden years, providing good mounts for students.
RHRA is dedicated to teaching students about riding, care and behavior of horses. We have quality instructors that are committed to each individual student, bringing out the best in the student. Our horses are well mannered and professionally trained. We emphasize safety in all interactions with horses. Our instructors have years of experience with horses and love to impart their knowledge to their students.
We offer Western, English, Jumping, Dressage, Therapy and we will train you to train your horse. We also provide an opportunity to learn to show a horse. You can lease a horse and enjoy a horse without the expense of owning your own. Or we can help you find a horse that suits your needs.
RHRA has opportunities for volunteers. We have kids and adults that spend time learning about and helping with the horses. It’s a great program for homeschooled children.
RHRA has opportunities and plans available that make riding a horse affordable and we can work with your budget to provide you a great horse experience. RHRA is devoted to having people enjoy horses and instill a lifetime of love for horses.
RHRA’s experienced instructors teach both Western and English riding with an emphasis on safety and confidence under the supervision of certified instructors. Horseback riding lessons include instruction in horsemanship (grooming, tacking, and all around horse care) and riding skills tailored to each student’s particular skill level. Our beautiful horseback riding facilities and property in Tucson allow riding lesson opportunities to grow and develop your horseback riding skills over time!
RHRA offers horseback riding lessons ((SCHEDULE HERE)) Lessons are generally scheduled weekly, but other arrangements can be made on an individual basis.

RHRA provides equine-assisted activities and therapies for children with physical and developmental disabilities, and serves children with autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, hearing/vision impairments, and other special needs. Our largest therapeutic riding program is for school aged children. Research shows that therapeutic riding is beneficial to children with disabilities in many ways.
RHRA offers therapeutic riding for adults as well as traditional riding lessons for those who had a past negative experience on horseback. RHRA also has an Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy program that provides a non-traditional form of counseling for adults. Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy is a powerful and effective therapeutic approach. It is especially useful for people who don’t respond to talk therapies. It has been clinically proven effective in addresses a variety of mental health and human development needs including behavioral issues, attention deficit disorder, PTSD, substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and relationship problems.
